The primary goal of the Community Microsoft Refurbisher Program is twofold:
One: Increase the number of low-cost computers available in the community for students and those on low-incomes.
(Seniors, people receiving a pension, non-profit community groups and other community users, including all full-time school students, Australian Apprentices, anyone receiving Austudy or a Youth Allowance are eligible.)
Two: To save a precious resource: the environment. The US EPA recently estimated that reusing five desktop computers has the same environmental impact as taking one car off the road for a year.

1st Year Student Scholarships - Bendigo Bank

Each year Bendigo Bank awards grants to outstanding, but disadvantaged students, usually from a rural area, that have been offered a full-time place at an Australian university or college campus for the first time.
The Scholarship aims to support first year students who, due to social or financial circumstances, would not have been able to further their education.
Applications for the 2011 Scholarship are now invited and close on 28th January 2011.
