Week 4 - Study Tips & Research Opportunity

It's week four already! How is your study going???
Have you discovered any great study tips you could share? Please let us know by posting them here!

Tip of the Week
One student shared with me her idea for keeping on top of her work each week...
She uses 1 small sticky note for each specific study task. For example, a reading, an online discussion post, a reading for an assignment, time spent writing a reference list etc.
Each task is then stuck onto the LTU study planner on the appropriate days. This helps her to see how much work there is each week and helps her to break down each assignment into smaller tasks which seem more achieveable.
You can use a different coloured sticky note for each course.
Then there is the satisfaction of ripping off the sticky note after each task has been accomplished...

It might be worth giving it a try...

Here is an app which a student has found useful for their readings:
'Notability'.
Link to iTunes: http://itunes.apple.com/au/app/notability-take-notes-annotate/id360593530?mt=8

There is a YouTube demonstration here:

Notability allows you to highlight, make notes, insert pictures/notes and write on pdf readings, as well as create new documents. It saves all your notes for the next time you open the reading, and it doesn't rely on using the cloud to access readings.
